What is CommercialConcepts?
CommercialConcepts by Misael Colorado is a conceptual advertising practice focused on developing speculative commercial ideas with enough structure, logic and visual direction to feel possible in the real world.
It explores campaigns, brand worlds, packaging, promotional objects, fictional products, retail activations and commercial systems that do not yet exist, but could.
What is CommercialConcepts?
CommercialConcepts is not a gallery of random ideas or a collection of isolated speculative images. It is a practice for developing advertising concepts as structured creative properties.
Each concept may begin as an observation, a cultural pattern, a brand possibility, a product category, a seasonal opportunity or a fictional commercial object. From there, it is expanded into a campaign platform, visual system, object, packaging idea, activation, narrative or brand world.
By Misael Colorado
CommercialConcepts is created by Misael Colorado, curator of advertising, consumer culture and commercial artifacts.
His work studies how brands become visual memory, cultural symbols, commercial objects and everyday rituals. CommercialConcepts translates that curatorial eye into speculative creative direction: imagining what brands, products and commercial objects could become.
We package advertising imagination as sellable creative property.
Why commercial culture?
Commercial culture is where brands stop being only companies and become part of everyday life. It is where packaging, mascots, slogans, promotions, products, rituals and retail scenes begin to shape memory, taste, desire and imagination.
CommercialConcepts is built from that obsession: the idea that advertising is not only something people watch, skip or buy from. It is a cultural material capable of producing objects, worlds, characters, habits and emotional traces.
That is why each concept is not treated as a single ad, but as a possible commercial system: something with a visual logic, a cultural tension, a product-world and a reason to exist.
What CommercialConcepts creates
CommercialConcepts develops speculative but structured commercial proposals that can work as editorial pieces, portfolio studies, creative direction references or possible properties for licensing, adaptation, collaboration or sale.
- Speculative advertising campaigns.
- Brand worlds and fictional commercial universes.
- Product and packaging concepts.
- Promotional objects, collectibles and launch systems.
- Retail activations and in-store ideas.
- Mascots, symbols, characters and commercial icons.
- Campaign platforms, seasonal concepts and brand narratives.
- Concept decks, visual explorations and creative direction studies.
Each project is designed to feel like something that could belong to the real commercial world, even when it begins from fiction, speculation or cultural imagination.
Between curation and creation
CommercialConcepts exists between advertising curation, consumer culture, brand analysis, commercial art direction and conceptual design.
It does not look at advertising only as communication. It looks at advertising as a cultural machine that creates characters, objects, habits, packaging, symbols, rituals, scenes of purchase and visual memory.
From that point of view, a commercial concept is not just an idea for an ad. It can become a world, a system, a collectible object, a retail presence, a fictional product or a campaign platform with cultural weight.
Not a traditional agency
CommercialConcepts is not presented as a traditional advertising agency.
It does not begin with media plans, client retainers or conventional service packages. It begins with ideas, observations and commercial possibilities that can be shaped into creative properties.
Where a traditional agency usually responds to a brief, CommercialConcepts can also generate the brief, imagine the platform and build the conceptual logic behind a campaign, product, object or brand world.
Possible creative property
Some concepts may function as editorial work. Others may operate as public portfolio pieces, creative studies, speculative proposals or possible properties available for collaboration, adaptation, licensing or sale.
The goal is not to produce isolated inspiration, but to develop commercial ideas with enough form, context and logic to be read as serious creative proposals.
Relationship with Unboxing Brand
CommercialConcepts may be published, documented or contextualized through Unboxing Brand, the editorial and curatorial platform created by Misael Colorado around advertising, consumer culture and commercial artifacts.
However, CommercialConcepts operates primarily as Misael Colorado’s signature creative practice. Unboxing Brand provides cultural context and publishing infrastructure, but CommercialConcepts is built to stand as a professional conceptual advertising practice in its own right.
Commercial imagination, packaged
CommercialConcepts explores the space between what brands are, what they have been, and what they could become.
It is a strategic practice dedicated to imagining possible campaigns, fictional commercial objects, speculative packaging, brand worlds, and advertising concepts — all built with enough logic, coherence, and craft to feel undeniably real and commercially viable.
Not just imagination.
It’s commercial imagination, packaged as sellable creative property.
